Car Crashes In West Michigan After Road Washes Away
A car crashed into a culvert in Montague overnight after the road they were traveling washed away due to heavy rain and melting snow. The crash occurred around 4:00 am Wednesday.According to WZZM-13 two men were driving on the road and didn't realize that the road had washed away. Their car ended up upside down in the water in the culvert. The men were able to exit the car and call 911, but the area they were in has spotty cell service nad they were unable to connect with a dispatcher. Rescue crews used the cell phone's GPS to find the men.
Both men were transported to the hospital by ambulance and the mother of one of the men told WZZM that both have been released and are okay
Major repairs are needed to get the road back to safe driving conditions, and is expected to be closed for a significant time.
