Nick Charles, CNN’s First Sports Anchor, Dead at 64
Sportscaster Nick Charles has died of bladder cancer at his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was 64.
As CNN’s first sports anchor, his work with Fred Hickman on the nightly-roundup show ‘Sports Tonight’ sometimes drew a larger audience than even that of sports network ESPN.

‘King of Infomercials’ Don Lapre Arrested
Looks like Don Lapre finally found an audience who wouldn’t buy what he was selling.
After the self-proclaimed ‘King of Infomercials’ failed to appear for his Wednesday arraignment on 41 counts (including conspiracy, mail fraud, wire fraud and promotional money laundering), a bench warrant was issued for his arrest. Deputy US Marshals caught up with him the next day in Tempe, AZ.

The Paso Robles, CA girl went through more than half a million names over several months and discovered that all the US presidents save for one — Martin Van Buren — are related to John “Lackland” Plantagenet, a former King of England and signer of the Magna Carta.
