As Michigan divides into a sea of maize and blue on one side and green and white on the other, let's find some common ground. Let's find a home for Mamacita from Crash's Landing!

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Every Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Mamacita.

Mamacita entered a cat rescue in Muskegon in May of 2010. She had a litter of four, but she was FIV positive so she couldn't stay with them. The Muskegon shelter had no way of caring for a FIV positive cat. Crash's Landing is the only shelter in the area that does. On July 9, 2010, Mamacita came to Big Sid's Sanctuary at Crash's Landing.

Big Sid's is one of the largest shelters in the nation which caters exclusively to cats who test positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) or FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus). Both viruses can suppress a cat's immune system.

Mamacita loves people, belly rubs and head scratches. She's okay with other cats too, but she likes to have a little space sometimes.

Adopt Mamacita!
