The solar eclipse is coming on Monday, but we've got an even better way to make next week one to remember.

Adopt Flora from Crash's Landing!

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Each Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Flora.

When Flora was first found in Belmont she weighed in at less than five pounds. She was in very rough shape and it is likely that the woman who found her and took her into her home saved Flora's life.

Flora was soon brought to Crash's Landing for care and her list of ailments was long. Flora had significant muscle wasting, her gums were pale due to a non-regenerative anemia, she had broken canines and dental disease, she was hungry but couldn't keep anything down, she had a puncture wound on her chin that abscessed and caused a significant odor, and she had fleas too.

It took four weeks of close care to get Flora back on a healthy path. Today she is ready to be adopted and ready to become part of a caring family.

Please adopt Flora!
