Over the weekend (Oct 12-15) the FBI and local authorities around the nation worked together for 'Operation Cross Country XI'- an effort to stop sex traffickers.

According to the Detroit Free Press, over four days, 84 minors were rescued; 12 being from Michigan. The average age of all the victims was around 15 while the youngest was only 3 months old. In addition, a total of 120 traffickers were arrested, including 46 people involved in prostitution. Eight of those traffickers were arrested in Michigan.

In a news release from the FBI, that they staged operations in casinos, hotel rooms, truck stops, street corners and online. All victims were also given assistance depending on their age, such as CPS and Salvation Army.

Depending on the level of need, victims are offered medical and mental health counseling, as well as a number of other services."

Since its inception in 2003, Operation Cross Country has saved more than 6,500 children.
