The West Catholic High School robotics team used a 3D printer to build a prosthetic hand for a 4-year-old girl when her insurance wouldn't cover the cost of a new one. It's an amazing story we first heard about in mid-December. The story has since received nationwide attention.

Saturday was a successful day for West Michigan high school football teams at the state championships in Detroit!

Muskegon Oakridge football player Dan Shoop had an 80-yard touchdown run against West Catholic last week. Now, Shoop's run is up for National Play of the Week from USA Today!

Grand Rapids West Catholic's baseball team is preparing for a memorable game. The team will play at Comerica Park on Thursday, May 16.

The 2012 Michigan High School Football season wrapped up on Saturday, with another West Michigan school taking home the championship trophy. Grand Rapids Christian won the Division 3 championship.  West Catholic was runner-up in Division 5.

West Michigan schools' successful run through the Michigan High School Football Playoffs continued in the semifinals over the weekend. West Michigan will have representatives in four of eight state championship games over Thanksgiving weekend!

A couple of weeks ago we told you about five West Michigan high school teams and two individuals who brought home state championships.  Now, we have more good news. West Catholic's Sam Weatherhead, winner of the Division 3 individual boys golf championship, has been named the best high school boys golfer in Michigan!

It was a very successful weekend for West Michigan high school teams.  Unity Christian, Calvin Christian, Hudsonville, Grand Rapids Christian, Hamilton, and West Catholic all brought home either team or individual championships!

Colleen Lamoreaux-Tate took over the girls basketball program at Grand Rapids Catholic Central in 2005.  She was previously the head girls basketball coach at East Grand Rapids for 10 years. On Thursday, it was announced that Lamoreaux-Tate will become the sixth head coach in the history of Ferris State University's women's basketball program.
