Global Smurfs Day is a thing. A thing that I'm sure that not too many of us were aware of. But, in preparation for the release of Smurfs 2 this summer, Sony Pictures UK has decided to put together the biggest Global Smurfs Day celebration on June 22nd. And they've enlisted the help of 90's band Right Said Fred.

If you think The Smurfs might be a good movie to see with the kids, you're not alone. Sony's The Smurfs - a movie about little blue forest pixies - was the top movie over the weekend, tying with Universal's Cowboys and Aliens for the top of the heap in ticket sales.
