Blood banks across Michigan are asking for your help!  Every summer, blood donations plummet because school is out and high school students make up a large percentage of the donors in the state.  This year, blood banks are especially in need of O-Negative blood...

If this doesn't tug at your heart a bit, I don't know what will, because this just shows that prayers can be answered in many ways, and this answer came in the form of a Grand Valley State University football player.

Type O negative blood is extremely important. Only 9 percent of people have it, but 100 percent of the population can receive it. Michigan Blood says the 60 Michigan hospitals they serve are currently experiencing a shortage of Type O negative blood.

A Michigan summer is a beautiful thing. So is saving a life. That is why Michigan Blood is inviting all of us to celebrate both during Michigan Blood’s ‘Love Michigan’ blood drives throughout the state over the Fourth of July weekend, June 30 – July  4.

It’s often said laughter is the best medicine. Unfortunately for many, laughter simply isn’t enough. So for the fourth year in a row, Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids (GCGR) and LaughFest are partnering with Michigan Blood and Blue Care Network to host blood drives during LaughFest. The drives will be held Monday, February 29 and Thursday, March 3.

Michigan Blood's Grand Rapids and Grandville donation centers are among those with a special offer for a holiday blood drive. Attempt to donate blood and you'll receive a $10 gift card to Kohl's.

Michigan Blood is teaming up with Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids on Giving Tuesday. For every attempted donation, Michigan Blood will donate $5 to Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids.

Michigan Blood is celebrating their 60th Anniversary with a Labor Day weekend blood drive. Donors are invited to draw on large Michigan mittens which will be on display during ArtPrize. Those who attempt to donate will also earn a $10 Meijer gift card.
