It looks like it might be a wintery weekend around West Michigan. It might be a good weekend for a few cocktails, maybe a run/walk, disc golf, or maybe something inside. We have plenty of options for you! This Saturday is also Veteran's Day, a day to honor our friends and family that have served in the United States Armed Forces. The Veteran's Day Parade in downtown Grand Rapids will start at 11 am on Saturday.

It's the last weekend in July. Area festivals and fairs continue, along with food, movies, baseball, runs and concerts. We have events for adults, kids, and even the dog! There are plenty of activities for all ages. No matter where you are in west Michigan there is something to do!

There's no doubt about it, Grand Rapids is an awesome city. We've got lots of attractions and fun things always going on, we're a family friendly city and appeal to the younger crowd as well. Grand Rapids has A LOT to offer so no wonder why we make so many "best of" lists...

The new and improved Fulton Street Farmers Market will officially open at 7:45am for the ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday, bright and early! So whats different?  The market will now feature permanent, covered, open air spaces and a plaza with seating, bike parking, and an overflow area for vendors.  The goal still is to raise enough funds to make the market a year-round building.

I was at the Fulton Street Farmers Market this past Saturday picking up some fresh eggs and hubbard squash.  One of the family farmers explained to me that this weekend some things will be changing. I LOVE the Fulton Street Farmer's Market.  In case you haven't heard last year was the first year that I purchased all local all summer long from the Farmer's Market.  $5-$10 a week or every other week.  I blanched it and froze it.  Nothing like eating sweet Michigan asparagus all winter long...
