ArtPrize is but a few weeks away, but another art competition is already underway. The Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is accepting two-dimensional entries for the annual Ray and Nancy Loeschner Art Competition.

It's hard to believe that July is but a couple of weeks away.  And yet, that's an exciting time when the summer's best family entertainment value, the Tuesday Evening Music Club kicks off.  The Music Club brings talented local and regional musicians to the Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater stage free to Meijer Gardens members—throughout July and August.

More good news for those of us who are short on cash but still love a culturally enriching experience!   Frederik Meijer Gardens, The Henry Ford Museum and six more Michigan museums and cultural destinations are free to all Bank of America customers this weekend...

Happy Thanksgiving Week! It is a shorter work week for many, not all, of course, and will hopefully be a time for you to be with family and friends and celebrate Thanksgiving, 2011. There are also many things for you to do over the next 5 holiday weeks.  No, not shopping.  Enjoying the holidays by enjoying what our community has to offer. Here are some of my suggestions.
