ArtPrize is bringing a variety of programming to ArtPrize Seven this fall with ArtPrize Tonight. ArtPrize Tonight is 19 days of evening entertainment in three categories: On Screen, On Stage and Critical Discourse.

Earlier this month, Waterfront Film Festival and ArtPrize announced, ArtPrize OnScreen: Presented by Waterfront Film Festival, a new collaboration which will bring the first ever film competition to ArtPrize in Grand Rapids. Today, the films for this fall's competition were announced.

The always controversial Michigan film incentive program is bringing a major movie to Michigan. The upcoming Batman and Superman movie will be filmed in Michigan.

West Michigan has hosted a number of films in recent years. West Michigan beaches, restaurants, and breweries have all been featured in those films. Now you can see exactly what was filmed where, with a new map from the Pure Michigan Film Office.

ArtPrize begins September 18, but it's been a busy couple of weeks for the art competition. Venue registration closed, artist registration began, and a new executive director was named. Christian Gaines, the new executive director of ArtPrize, has a strong background working with films. Is his hiring an indication that film is about to become a much bigger part of ArtPrize?
