A successful weekend for West Michigan high school football teams!

The 2016 Michigan high school football season ends at Ford Field in Detroit this weekend. West Michigan will be well-represented with teams competing for championships in four of the eight divisions.

The new owners of a small bar in Conklin, Michigan are bringing back a St. Patrick's Day tradition that began in 1988. The Wearing of the Green parade will return to Conklin on St. Patrick's Day.

Earlier this year, 33-year-old tutor Abigail Simon was sentenced to up to 25 years in prison for having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old Grand Rapids Catholic Central student. Last week, the O-K Conference voted to expand by bringing Fruitport and Spring Lake into the conference. A realignment of the divisions was also approved. West Catholic Athletic Director/Football Head Coach Dan Rohn shared with us some of his concerns about the realignment and his thoughts on the renewed annual football rivalry between West Catholic and Catholic Central.

Colleen Lamoreaux-Tate took over the girls basketball program at Grand Rapids Catholic Central in 2005.  She was previously the head girls basketball coach at East Grand Rapids for 10 years. On Thursday, it was announced that Lamoreaux-Tate will become the sixth head coach in the history of Ferris State University's women's basketball program.
