To recognize and bring awareness to the 1,059 children in foster care in Kent County in 2015, today, Monday, April 18, CASA of Kent County will be placing 1,059 blue pinwheels in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids to honor each of these vulnerable children.

Ashley Rhodes-Courter was put in foster care at the tender age of three, and went on to live in 14 different, and horrific, foster-home situations until she was 12 years of age. She was one of the lucky ones.  She was adopted into a loving home.
