To help local businesses in Holland, and get you in the Christmas spirit, Kerstmarkt Outdoor Holiday Market is set to open this Saturday.

According to WOOD, Kerstmarkt worked closely with the Ottawa County Health Department to make the opening happen safely so there will be some guidelines that holiday shoppers will need to follow.

This year the market will be fenced in to help control the number of people in and out of shopping area. All shoppers must wear a mask, practice social distancing and to keep from folks gathering too close there will be no warming stations this year so you definitely should dress warm for the occasion. Only 200 visitors will be allowed at the location at any given time.

With local businesses struggling this year, the outdoor holiday market gives people a chance to support their neighbor's business and to get a little normalcy while getting into the Christmas spirit.

The outdoor holiday market is set up like a European style market that will include holiday items and gifts for all, there will a variety of food to choose from and even some artisan demonstrations going on but at a safe distance of course.

18 different booths will be set up for holiday shoppers and below is a list of their holiday schedule:

  • Saturday, November 21, 9-5
  • Friday, November 27, 11-5
  • Saturday, November 28, 9-5
  • Friday, December 4, 3-8
  • Saturday, December 5, 9-5
  • Friday, December 11, 3-8
  • Saturday, December 12, 9-5

Some of the events that will happen at the market this year will be the bell ringers, the parade of lights, and a couple editions of the dogsled demos.
