A tragic case of domestic violence unfolded early Thursday morning (9/11/2025) in Port Huron, leaving one teenager dead and two younger siblings fighting for their lives. Police confirmed that a 44-year-old man was taken into custody after allegedly shooting his three children inside their apartment.

Father Opens Fire on Children

The incident happened just after 6 a.m. at a complex on Glenview Court near Krafft Road and 24th Avenue (M-25). According to investigators, the man opened fire on his 17-year-old son, 13-year-old son, and 12-year-old daughter. All three were rushed to a Detroit-area hospital for treatment. Sadly, the 17-year-old did not survive his injuries. His younger brother and sister remain in critical condition.

Mother and Sibling Fought to Stop Attack

Before officers arrived, the children’s mother and their 20-year-old sibling bravely fought the suspect in an attempt to stop the attack and prevent further harm. Police later arrested the man without incident. Authorities have not yet released his name pending formal charges.

Police Investigation and Statement

At a press briefing Thursday morning, an officer with the Port Huron Police Department described the shooting as a “heinous, senseless act of violence.” He said the suspect is cooperating with investigators, though details remain limited while the case is active.
