Buc-ee’s stories always seem to get people fired up, and honestly, I kind of get it.

The extremely popular travel center is already in Ohio, and now Indiana may become another neighboring state to land one before Michigan.

And once again, that brings up the same question.

When are we getting one?

According to MLive, Buc-ee’s has submitted plans for a massive new location about 15 miles south of Indianapolis. So while Indiana is a neighboring state, it’s still a pretty good hike to get there. We’re talking roughly 4 to 5 hours from Genesee County.

Honestly, if you’re planning a road trip just for the Buc-ee’s experience, Ohio would still probably be your best bet.

If approved, this thing would be huge, around 74,000 square feet with roughly 120 gas pumps, plus EV charging stations.

You already know, this isn’t your average gas station. It's a gas station, convenience store, and roadside attraction all rolled into one.

Why People Are Obsessed With Buc-ee’s

Buc-ee’s has built a cult following thanks to its giant stores, spotless bathrooms, and famous snacks like Beaver Nuggets, brisket sandwiches, jerky, and fudge.

The food is pretty freaking good.

Not “let’s drive 4 or 5 hours just for Buc-ee’s” good, but good.

I’m not one of those people who’s going to drive hours out of my way just to go to one.

Will Michigan Ever Get a Buc-ee’s?

If Michigan got one, I’d think that was awesome.

Would I make a special trip just to go? Probably not.

Honestly, part of me almost wants Michigan to get a Buc-ee’s just so we can all stop talking about it.

Michigan’s gas stations are super convenient. You’re stopping to fill up anyway, so why not grab a few things while you’re there? But not everything on those shelves is a smart buy. Some items are overpriced, low quality, or just plain bad for you.
