Before he became "El Presidente," the pizza-rating, Barstool-betting, controversy-stirring, internet, and sports mogul we know today, Dave Portnoy was just another guy walking around campus in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Yes, the University of Michigan can claim the social media sensation as an alum, as if he didn't boast about that enough on his own.

Portnoy graduated from U of M in 1999 with a degree in education, but he never went on to or needed to step in front of a classroom overhead projector. You see, between classes and plotting his next sports bet, he hatched Barstool Sports, a colossal name today but a far cry from the four-page print publication focusing on betting and fantasy football when it first hit the streets of Boston in 2003.

Fast-forward to 2007, Barstool Sports found a new home and a broader online audience. Portnoy's love for pizza led to the advent of One Bite Pizza Reviews in 2017, and to say that the feature caught on would be an understatement.

One Bite Pizza Reviews are pretty straightforward. Portnoy steps out of the pizza place, opens the box to show off the pie, and then takes a single bite (and many others; don't let the name fool you) before rating the joint's pizza on a scale from one to ten. He has been everywhere, including over twenty in Michigan.
