Whitecaps Crowned Midwest League Champions After Historic Season
The West Michigan Whitecaps wrapped up an incredible season on Tuesday night with a 3-1 win over the Cedar Rapids Kernels making them the 2025 Midwest League Champions.
The championship was the 7th for the Detroit Tigers High-A affiliate in team history and the first in 10 years.

An interesting fact is that the when the Whitecaps won the Midwest League Championship 10 years ago it was also on the road against the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
The team was red hot all season long and took that energy into the playoffs.
The Whitecaps started out taking on the Lake County Captains and beat them in 2 games.
They then faced the Cedar Rapids Kernels and were able to win the series and league championship in 2 games.
