This Kent County Girl Adorably Roasts Library Book Checked Out From KDL
If you're a reader- you probably have a few books out there that you would recommend to pretty much anyone. Maybe that book made you laugh, cry, think, or just allowed you to escape for a few minutes. On the other hand- for all of the good books we read, there is at least one or two that we didn't enjoy.
While most of us are likely to go somewhere like Goodreads or Amazon to leave our reviews, some of the younger readers in the world may not have access to these places to share their opinions. So, where should they go to let people know to avoid reading something they hate?

One young girl in West Michigan must have learned this lesson the hard way recently because a recent social media post on the Kent District Library's Instagram page showed her giving a brutal review of a book she checked out from them.
A girl known as "Claire" checked out a book many of us may have read at her age, The Berenstain Bears, Report Card Trouble. In case you haven't- the story follows Brother Bear who gets a bad report card and has to face his parents with the news. (Relatable content for me, honestly.)
I guess Claire didn't appreciate how relatable the story was because, inside the book's cover, she left a less than favorable review, scrawled in crayon.
This may be a little harsh, and the Kent District Library doesn't mind that you don't love every single thing they have to check out. They ask that you not write on the inside cover, and instead share that review online.
But hey Claire, we get it. Vent it out and hopefully your next read makes you happier.
