If You’re Going to Do a West Michigan Review, Learn How to Pronounce ‘Muskegon’
I don't like to talk smack about content creators, and overall, I'm not going to in this article, but...
If you're going to do a review of a place in West Michigan, at least pronounce the name of the city correctly.
Is Michigan's Adventure the Worst Theme Park in America?
Recently, an Instagram account called parkhoppersradio visited the Mitten State and decided that they were going to do a review of a beloved West Michigan amusement park.

Host Austin Juersivich went to the park, decked out in Detroit Lions gear, and asked the question, "Is This the WORST Theme Park in America?"
The short answer, Austin, is "no, it's not." Michigan's Adventure is great and, as their commercials tell us, you get "two parks for the price of one."
And while Austin, ultimately, gave the park a pretty great review, there was one glaring error in the video - his pronunciation of "Muskegon".
How Do You Pronounce Muskegon?
Austin, my guy... let me help you out. It's "Muhs-KEE-guhn". Not... whatever it was that you said. "Muss-kah-gun"? I think that's close.
While we super appreciate you coming to West Michigan, repping the Lions, and checking out Michigan's Adventure, we in Michigan are a proud people, and we get a little miffed when the names of our cities and towns are mispronounced. (Though, we get it, some of them are hard.)
While at Michigan's Adventure, Austin checked out Shivering Timbers, Wolverine Wildcat, Thunderhawk, the swinging ship (my personal least favorite... but, admittedly, I'm afraid of heights), Wolverine Wildcat (again!), and the swings.
The REAL Review of Michigan's Adventure
In the end, Austin kept it real, admitting that Michigan's Adventure is a,
great setting for families, a great, beautiful park, great rollercoasters... Honestly, I think this park? It's worth it.
Austin, thank you for giving Michigan's Adventure the kudos that it deserves, but... next time you visit, make sure you have the pronunciation of "Muskegon" down pat.
Love coasters? How about staying in a Michigan Airbnb that's made out of one?
