If you were hoping to bring the family to Michigan’s Adventure this fall for a little Halloween fun, you’re going to have to travel a little further to get the same thrill.

West Michigan’s only major theme park just announced it won’t be holding its Tricks and Treats fall event this year. According to an email shared with season pass holders on July 21, the park will instead wrap up its season early, closing on September 1.

While it’s a little disappointing to lose out on the fall festivities we’ve come to love (especially for those of us who made it an annual family tradition) it’s also understandable that sometimes things need to pause.

I was super looking forward to taking my son to see a 'Spooky Snoopy', but hey, here's hoping maybe we can take him in the future?

The good news? Season pass holders are being offered a free ticket to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, valid through November 1.

They have an awesome Halloween event, so at least you can have an excuse to take a road trip and try something new (for this year.):

Still, there’s something special about having these kinds of seasonal events right here in our own backyard. It’s a reminder that if we want to keep local attractions going strong, it’s more important than ever to support them by visiting, buying tickets, and spreading the word.

Hopefully, Tricks and Treats will return in the future. Until then, we’re grateful for the memories made at Michigan’s Adventure, and we’re already looking forward to next summer’s return.

If You Grew Up in West Michigan, You Definitely Field Tripped to These Places

Field trips are a rite of passage for kids across the US, and if you grew up in West Michigan, chances are you took a field trip to at least one of these places.
