Michigan's Cannabis Regulatory Agency (also known as the CRA) issued a warning on Tuesday, January 17th to business owners saying they've noticed an alarming increase in delivery drivers being robbed while on their routes.

Not only is this troubling for these industry professionals, but it could threaten our ability to receive this service in the future.

How many drivers have been robbed, and where are they getting robbed?

According to the Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency, there has been a surge of 13 drivers who have been robbed recently.

While the specific locations of where the robberies have occurred isn't public, we do know that they happened in Ann Arbor, Detroit, Ferndale, Hamtramck, Hazel Park, Lansing, Westland, Ypsilanti, and Utica. Showing a location specific trend for the east and central parts of the state.

What should delivery drivers and businesses do if this happens to them? Report it.

The Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency is asking all businesses and drivers that are robbed or have problems, to make sure they report what happened within 24 hours to both their agency, as well as local law enforcement.

Hopefully, this is just a spike and not a reoccurring trend. And as always- make sure you tip your driver well if you order cannabis delivery, they deserve a little extra love right now to make up for the current climate they're working in.
