Michigan Lottery Group Celebrates Big Win After U.P. Trip

I don't play the lottery very often because I hate losing my money.

Don't get me wrong, when the Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot is around a billion dollars, I might stick my toes in the water and buy $5 to $10 worth of easy picks in the hopes that I'll get lucky, but unfortunately for me, I rarely even break even with my winnings.

Two Michigan buddies who are part of a lottery group recently hit it big after buying a winning ticket on their way home from a trip to the U.P.

Genesee County Lottery Club Wins $2,000,000

The two buddies went up north to stay at a friends Cabin and on the way back home they stopped at Trout Lake Speedy Mart to buy some drinks and lottery tickets.

Not long after they left the gas station, one of the buddies scratched a ticket and couldn't believe what he saw.

They had just won $2,000,000 playing the 100X instant game.

“When I scratched off the prize amount of $2 million, my heart started pounding and I felt like I was having a heart attack, I told my friend we just won $2 million and handed him the ticket. It was unbelievable! You never think you will be the one to win a prize like this, so it feels unreal.”

The club decided to take the cash option instead of payments and ended up walking away with around $1.3 million.

What Are They Going To Do With The Money?

The buddies are going to use their newfound money to enjoy a trip down to Florida.

They also plan to pay off their bills and use the rest of the winnings to live a debt-free life.

After hearing this story I think I might need to take a weekend trip to the U.P. to relax and buy a couple of lottery tickets on the way home to Grand Rapids.
