
The One Rule Every Michigan Driver Should Know for Safe Roads After a Crash
I was doing some yard work when I heard an unfortunate sound.

A driver slammed on their brakes just before they rear-ended another driver.
These close calls happen often on Diamond Ave, where I live, for a lot of reasons.
Some drivers are probably distracted, others are going way too fast, or maybe they’re just tired after a long day of work.
Regardless of the cause, these crashes are not only a pain in the neck for the drivers involved but also for everyone else trying to go north or south on the road.

When you’re involved in a crash, you’re obviously not supposed to just leave-that would be breaking the law.
But if you’re in a car accident where nobody is hurt, like this one, what should drivers in Michigan do?
Are You Supposed to Move Your Car After A Crash?
If you find yourself involved in an accident, whether alone or involving other vehicles, and as long as nobody is hurt or injured and the vehicle can be driven, you should move your car off the road and into a safe location.
This is according to Michigan Auto Law.
In the accident that happened on my street, the cars didn't move until the police arrived, which caused a significant backup and also led some impatient drivers to make dangerous blind passes in the opposite lane.
From my perspective, it appeared that both cars were drivable and could have been pulled over to the side of the road that was open.
