This Year’s NFL Fan of the Year is This Lions Super Fan From the U.P.

The week leading up to the Super Bowl is always exciting. Not only are we all getting hyped for the game (and the halftime show), but there are also some fun and touching moments.

Thursday night, the NFL held its annual NFL Honors ceremony, and during that ceremony, they crowned the 2024 NFL Fan of the Year.

While our Detroit Lions didn't make it to the big game this year, the team's fan of the year did make the trek to New Orleans for the game. But, she was in for an even bigger surprise Thursday night when she was announced as the NFL's Fan of the Year.

NFL Fan of the Year - Megan Stefanski

Megan Stefanski has been a Detroit Lions fan for as long as she can remember. Growing up, she attended tons of games with her father Donnie "Yooperman" Stefanski. Together, the pair also ran Yooperman's Bar in the small town of Goetzville in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Sadly, Donnie passed away in 2019, but Megan continued their tradition on her own - making the drive from Goetzville to Detroit for every Lions' home game.

(She even brought her dad's ashes to the Lions' wild card game against the L.A. Rams during the 2023 postseason.)

It's been over ten years since Megan has missed ANY Lions game - both home and away.

And she's transitioned her love of the Lions and the friends that she's made along the way to do good within her own community. Over the past year, she was able to raise over $50,000 for a charity that's near and dear to her heart - Hospice of the E.U.P.

Megan, a school librarian by day, also wrote a children's book about herself, her dad, and the love of the Lions called "Yooperman's Pride: Football is Family."
