Lainey Wilson’s New Song “4x4xU” Gives Shoutout To Kalamazoo
New Music Friday is the standard day of the week to get hyped about songs from your favorite artists dropping, but this week a lot artists decided to celebrate America's birthday by dropping singles and albums on the fourth of July, to take advantage of the long weekend and road trip listening people will be doing.
One of the artists with new music this week is country superstar Lainey Wilson, whose new single "4x4xU" is an adorable ballad about being the passenger princess in his 4x4 (with you). From her upcoming album, Whirlwind, this single takes listeners on a long distance road trip filled with love.
Throughout the song, Lainey names places they're driving between, and one of them is a very obvious nod to a city in West Michigan.
"NYC to L.A
City to the country
From here to Kalamazoo
Boy, after a long day
You know there ain't no wrong way
To drive my crazy crazy
In a 4x4 by you"
While I don't think Lainey Wilson will be coming to play a show in Kalamazoo anytime soon, since she's already outgrown venues in Grand Rapids like The Intersection. She will be back in Michigan later this year for Faster Horses on July 20th, which is fairly close to Kalamazoo, so maybe they'll get their moment then.
