How To Get VIP Parking For Free At The John Ball Zoo
I am a new mom, and I love taking my little guy to the zoo. We're new members of the John Ball Zoo and we frequently spend afternoons hanging out with his besties in the aquarium.
I'm always looking for ways to "hack" my trip to the JBZ because while I love being there, I'm always running on a nap schedule and every minute adds up. Yesterday when I went, I noticed a set of parking spots that were unused in the front of the zoo that basically give you VIP access without a special pass.
While this "parking hack" only applies if you already have one of these vehicles, it's a pretty cool thing you'll want to know before your next visit.

Did you know that the John Ball Zoo offers low-emission parking? If you have a low-emission vehicle (which is generally defined as an electric or hybrid engine that produces less Co2 than other models) You are allowed to park in these spots right by the front gates, for free.
I only noticed these AFTER parking my hybrid in the back corner of the lot, so I wasn't able to take advantage, but now that I know- catch me unloading my stroller closer to the gate going forward.
This initiative goes along with the John Ball Zoo's commitment to conservation and making the world better. And, it's awesome to see them being consistent, even before you walk into their gates. And, speaking of awesome summer hacks...
