The 56-year-old man from Calhoun County decided to remain anonymous, like many other players do.

In Michigan, winners of state-only lottery games with prizes over $10,000 can remain anonymous unless they choose not to be.

But when it comes to bigger games that are played in multiple states such as Powerball and Mega Millions players are required to reveal their identity according to the rules of those games.

For this winning Michigan man, he bought his ticket online at MichiganLottery.com.

He shared with the Michigan Lottery that he typically buys one draw game ticket daily, rotating between Fantasy 5, Powerball and Lotto 47.

On October 21, he bought himself a Fantasy 5 ticket and ended up matching all five numbers, 04-07-24-25-30, which made him $280,073 richer.

The man shared how he found out he won big:

I saw an email come through that night about claiming a prize, which I realized was different from the usual ‘your winnings have arrived’ emails. That’s when I logged into my account and saw I won big!

The man says with his winnings he plans to pay bills, help his kids, and save the rest of the money.
