Ed Sheeran is making his way back to Detroit, and if you have FOMO after missing the last time he broke sound records at Ford Field, you won’t want to miss out.

The 34-year-old singer just announced North American dates for his worldwide LOOP Tour, and Ford Field is thankfully on the list. He’ll hit the stage (field?) on August 29, 2026, giving Michigan another chance at a night to remember.

If you missed it, the last time Ed Sheeran played Detroit, he surprised the crowd by bringing out Eminem in his hometown.

In a podcast interview later on, he admitted that it was “the loudest concert I’ve ever had.”. So, I’m already coming up with theories on what surprises he might have up his sleeve this time around in Detroit.

The North American leg of the LOOP Tour kicks off June 13 in Glendale, Arizona, and wraps November 7 in Tampa, Florida. Detroit lands right in the middle of the action. In my experience, that usually means we have great odds of being a surprise guest to help sell the rest of the tour (assuming it doesn’t sell out instantly.)

Tickets for the Detroit stop go on sale September 26, with an artist presale beginning September 23 at 9 a.m. Fans can register now at edsheeran.com for access to presale tickets (free registration doesn’t guarantee a ticket, but it’s your best bet to get the best seats).

This announcement also follows the release of Sheeran’s eighth studio album, Play, which dropped just last week.

With new music, a massive stadium tour, and his history of unforgettable Detroit moments, Sheeran’s return to Ford Field is shaping up to be one of Michigan’s most anticipated concerts of 2026.
