When the clock strikes 2 a.m., most of your clocks will automatically fall back to 1 a.m.

If you're wondering why do we "spring forward" and "fall back" with our clock you have to go back to World War I.

The popular belief was that if you move the clocks ahead an hour, the U.S. could divert some coal-fired electricity to the military instead of using it for an hour of home power.

This idea went away after the World War 1, but appeared again in World War 2.

Daylight saving time was repealed again when the war ended, but some states and cities continued to observe daylight saving time while others kept standard time year-round.

Then in 1966, airlines and other businesses got tired of dealing with the issue of different times in states and cities and pushed Congress to pass the Uniform Time Act.

Sunday afternoon/evening might feel a bit off for most of us as we try and adjust to the time change and and less daylight.

There are several things you can try out to adjust to the time change.

Adjust Your Sleep Schedule: Gradually adjust your sleep schedule by shifting your bedtime and wake-up time by about 15 minutes later for several days before the time change.

This helps your body acclimate smoothly to the new schedule.

Get Some Sun: Prioritize getting exposure to natural morning sunlight after the change.

Sunlight helps regulate your internal body clock, ease circadian rhythm adjustment, and improve your mood and energy.

Change Your Clock: Set your clocks back by an hour before going to bed on the night of the time change to wake up on the correct schedule and avoid confusion.

Hopefully these ideas will help you adjust to the end of daylight saving time.
