Before I share what happened to me on a recent trip to Muskegon, I want to make it perfectly clear that I'm not trying to pick on this city.

I do however think some action should be taken so people traveling through this city in the future don't get blamed for something so embarrassing.

I was traveling with my wife Lindsey to see friends in Muskegon, while driving through Coopersville on I-96 West she called me gross and disgusting.

I was confused and asked her what she was talking about.

She said that my farts are nasty and to roll down down the window before she chokes to death.

Frustrated and embarrassed I told her the smell was not coming from me, but she wasn't buying it.

This West Michigan City Has Everyone Asking, 'Who Farted?'

Determined to prove that it wasn't me stinking up the car I went online and found evidence to prove my innocence and to get to the bottom of this stinky stretch of highway.

The smell that my wife blamed on me actually comes from the Ottawa County Farms Landfill.

After showing her what I found online she was still a bit skeptical, but did apologize for blaming me for the stinky smell.

How Coopersville Can Stop This From Happening Again

I'm not sure how the funds would be raised but I think my idea would be simple and help prevent other people like myself from being accused of letting a silent but deadly rip.

There should be a sign on this stretch of highway telling people that the stinky smell is coming from a nearby landfill and not someone in the car with them.
