Canada Goose Refuses to Vacate Upper Peninsula Parking Lot

The Sault Tribe Police, the folks who protect and serve the members of the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians, shared the saga on Facebook on April 29.

The unnamed goose refused to vacate the hood of a Jeep parked in a parking lot on tribal land. Officer Menard of the Sault Tribe Police attempted to negotiate with the silly goose.

The goose was demanding a "full tank of gas, diplomatic immunity, and a lifetime supply of bread."

Sault Tribe Police Successfully Negotiate With Stubborn Canada Goose

One commenter made me wonder if this was some sort of bird turf war. As we all know, "Silly goose, jeeps are for ducks!"

After some intense negotiations that lasted for an unspecified amount of time, Officer Menard was able to reach a deal with the goose.

In the end, the goose received,

A one-week supply of breadcrumbs, the right of way when crossing any of the local roadways/golf courses, and full diplomatic immunity until migration season.
