Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F Will Be Filming Scenes in Michigan Next Week
Beverly Hills Cop is arguably one of the most iconic movie franchises from the 1980s. Eddie Murphy already had a hugely successful career coming off of his time at Saturday Night Live, but that didn't stop him from propelling himself further into the spotlight with one of our favorite movie series.
And since we're in the era of the reboot, it only feels natural that Axel Foley make his big return to the screen 30 years after we saw him last.
Axel Foley, one of the most iconic characters of Eddie Murphy’s career will be making make a return to our screens in the upcoming forth installment of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise, which is confirmed to be called Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley. Netflix announced the reboot would happen in 2019, but the pandemic slowed down filming and now we're finally getting it!
We've now found out that they are returning to Detroit to film scenes for the movie next week!
And you may be thinking: Detroit is a long way from Beverly Hills, but it turns out some scenes from the original film were also shot in Detroit since the move is based on a Detroit Cop who is on vacation in Beverly Hills. Naturally, it only makes sense that they return to shoot here some again.
(Can you spot some familiar buildings in that scene?)
When will they be filming Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F scenes in Detroit?
According to a flyer that is trending on Twitter, it appears they'll be filming a few scenes in Detroit the week of Nov 27 - December 2nd.
It appears they will be filming some car chase and explosion sequences based on the flyer posted above, so there is no word on if the big name actors like Eddie himself will be in town for this.
However, if you're looking for some sight seeing, downtown Detroit should be explosive! They will be filming on Washington Blvd between State and Grand River, as well as State Street from Washington to Griswold, so you'll want to avoid those areas next week!
