From Fire Truck To Food Truck: Wood-Fired Pizza Craze Hits West Michigan
Food trucks are huge in West Michigan and now there is one pizza maker has taken the food truck to another level with a pizza oven in a fire truck.
What is Wood Fire Pizza?
The first time I tried wood-fired pizza was in Muskegon at Rolling Stone Wood-Fired Pizza Co. A former co-worker of mine's uncle owns the business and after a live broadcast we went over to grab a pizza and it was the first time I had ever heard of wood-fired pizza. By the way, the pizza was incredible.
Wood-fired pizza is cooked in a brick oven heated by burning wood instead of a traditional pizza oven that runs on electricity or gas. This type of oven can reach over 800 degrees allowing the pizza to cook faster plus adding a smoked wood flavor to the crust. I don't know who invented the concept but they are a genius in my book.

Wood Fire Pizza Made in a Fire Truck Pizza Oven
His name is Bob Gagnon, he is the fire chief at Norton Shores Fire Department. Gagnon thought it would be a great idea to get a fire truck with a pizza oven inside creating one of the coolest food trucks ever.
Gagnon has created his side hustle with Rollin' Fire Pizza. The business opened in the spring of 2024 and is making noise wherever this pizza food truck is parked.
I hope this fire truck food truck shows up in downtown Grand Rapids sometime for food truck Fridays.
Rollin' Fire Pizza is available to be booked at your event. You can call them at 231.206.2843 or hit them via email at rollinfirepizza@gmail.com. You can also find them on Facebook here. You won't find a cooler-looking food truck than a fire truck with a pizza oven in the back.
