Grand Rapids is renowned for its excellent craft brews, great food, and unique atmospheres at various locations throughout the city. The number of offerings is almost overwhelming. GR has felt unique in that many restaurants have become staples of the community with little turnover. Grand Rapids Brewing Co., for example, has been part of the city since 1893 and has been located at 1 Ionia Ave SW Ste 100 since 2012.

The food industry has struggled since the COVID-19 pandemic, as evidenced by the numerous closures of local establishments.
