When I was in middle school, I was given a snowboard for Christmas and I was thrilled. I had never expressed interest in snowboarding, so what possessed my grandma to get me one is beyond me, but I loved it. I was convinced I was going to be the next Shaun White. To no one's surprise, that never happened, but it wasn't because of a lack of places to snowboard.

Take a look at the creepy shambles Sugar Loaf was left in for years.
