Not just because a family doctor in Michigan was caught "pursuing a platonic relationship with a fictitious mom" to see if she would allow him to have a sexual relationship with her child, but the age of this fictional child makes this situation even worse:

Dr. William J. Murdoch discussed having a sexual relationship with a five-year-old girl.

Dr. William J. Murdoch's Arrest

In a detailed post on its Facebook page, the Port St. Lucie Police Department reveals how the PSLPD's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit initiated an undercover sting operation, which led to Dr. William J. Murdoch engaging in online conversations with a fictional mother created by the PSLPD's ICAC.

The doctor, who practiced at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital in Monroe County, expressed interest in "grooming the child" and "quickly turned the situation sexual." The ICAC claims that much of what Murdoch said was "too explicit to share." Still, Chief Leo Niemczyk stated that Murdoch was willing to travel to Florida, establish himself as a father figure in the home, and have a sexual relationship with the child—truly despicable and depraved behavior.

When the ICAC discovered Murdoch was a practicing doctor who was giving medical advice on the dark web, they moved quickly to issue a warrant. Murdoch was arrested for soliciting a parent to consent to the participation in sexual conduct involving a child, a felony charge. US Marshals arrested Murdoch and plan to extradite him to Florida.

This case and its content are sickening, but Murdoch's access to children as part of his work makes this case all the more troubling. So far, Murdoch has claimed there are no other victims and that he has "not yet crossed [that] line," and he was "looking for the right situation.".
