What the Job Actually Looks Like

Day-to-day work can vary depending on where you’re assigned, but the goal is pretty simple. You help keep parks welcoming, clean and running smoothly. That might mean answering visitor questions, checking in campers, cleaning park buildings, mowing grass, or helping maintain trails and park grounds.

What to Know Before You Apply

  • Starting pay is $15.50 per hour
  • Scheduling is flexible, with up to 1,040 hours available between April and October 2026
  • Some roles may qualify for academic or internship credit, depending on your program
  • Applicants are typically 18 or older, or have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • A background check and pre-employment drug test are required
