In January 2025, it was announced that Fat Boy Burgers had been sold and was shutting down for good. We didn't know who bought it — until now!

A new board game café is set to move into the space once occupied by Fat Boy Burgers. According to Crain's Grand Rapids the eatery is called Kobold's Kitchen, after a character in Dungeons and Dragons. It will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests can choose from more than 800 table top games to play! The menu will have many handheld options and include global fare from empanadas to smash burgers.
