Each year, I look forward to visiting Rosa Parks Circle for my annual reality check, which reminds me that I still struggle with ice skating. The day I don't fall on my rump whilst going in a circle for an hour will be the time I know I've leveled up as a human.

As fun as skating in a circle is, sometimes you want a little adventure. That's precisely what Holland has been building for the past year: an ice skating trail that gives skaters the option to go around a usual circle or along a big ribbon trail.

Holland's New Ice Park

Whether you're looking to participate in open skating on the 700-foot ribbon or curling, the brand new Holland Ice Park, located at 61 E 6th St, Holland, MI 49423, offers a cool experience for all ages.

Don't know how to ice skate, or don't own skates of your own? Fret not, because Learn to Skate programs are available, and rentals are included in the $10 ticket. 

*Note: Tickets must be purchased online ahead of time, and the Ice Park is cashless.

The skating season begins today, November 14th, and goes until March 15th. Open skating is available at select times, Tuesday through Sunday, with every Thursday in 2025 costing only $5. You can read the full FAQ here.

Personally, as someone who enjoys go-kart tracks even though I drive a car every day, I'm pretty excited to have a course to skate along rather than just a rink. Expect this course to be pretty busy the first couple of weeks and around the holidays.
