Grand Rapids Airport Adds New Self-Serve Wine Bar, Bookstore
Can I hang out here even if I'm not taking a flight? Wine AND books? Yes, please!
Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids has begun construction on Ink by Hudson, a new wine bar and contemporary bookstore.
They say Ink by Hudson will offer travelers a taste of local Michigan wines, shelves of diverse stories, travel essentials, and gifts.
Some locations even have a "kids corner" area for the kiddos:
Tory Richardson, president and CEO for the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority said in a release,
Ink by Hudson will be a unique spot for passengers to sit back and enjoy their travel experience. As our passenger numbers continue to grow, we are excited to welcome them with a book and a glass of wine, along with a distinctive assortment of gifts and travel necessities.
Currently Hudson operates over 1,000 stores in airports, commuter hubs, landmarks, and tourist locations across the U.S.
The new Grand Rapids store also has a self-serve wine bar! They're is partnering with Michigan Wine Collaborative to offer wine selections for guests to choose from and pour themselves.
Ink by Hudson at Gerald R. Ford Airport will be located after the security screening checkpoint just before Concourse B and is set to open in spring 2023. It's replacing Touch of Grand Rapids.
From the looks of Hudson Books' Twitter account it appears that book signings are often held at their store location - so that will be exciting to see what writers it brings to Grand Rapids!
Even more new businesses are coming to the airport! GRR says additional concessions will open after the completion of the newly expanded Concourse A in 2024. Follow Gerald R. Ford International Airport on Facebook for updates!
