Ex-Wolverine National Champ May Become a Champ Again As a Buckeye
Even thought Michigan didn't make it to the college football playoffs this season, I still enjoyed its win over Ohio State.
Joey Velazquez is originally from Columbus, Ohio, and was set to play football for them when Michigan drafted him as a football and baseball player to play for the Wolverines. After his dad was having health problems, Velazquez, moved back to Ohio to be closer to family and became a walk on for the Buckeyes.
If Ohio State beats Notre Dame for the College National Championship, Velazquez will have scored his second championship title whether he plays or not. According to MLive, Velazquez only played in 13 games for the Buckeyes this season but has not been on the field for Ohio's last two playoff wins. We will see tonight if Velazquez will get on that field one more time and walk off a national champion.
