The Nation’s Best Ice Skating Rink is Right Here in Michigan

Love ice skating? Great news! The top ice skating rink in the country is right here in the Mitten State.

There's something magical about lacing up your skates and gliding around a rink while lights twinkle and Christmas music plays.

USA Today and 10best sought to find the very best places to do so in the U.S.

A panel of experts chose 20 top rinks from across the country and then it was put up to a public vote.

Two Michigan ice rinks were in the running: The Frankenmuth Ice Rink and The Rink at Campus Martius Park in Detroit.

The Rink at Campus Martius Park took the No. 1 spot!

Recently the park was also named the best public square in the U.S.

There's a silver lining to the frigid winters of Detroit, Michigan — skating at The Rink at Campus Martius Park. Located in the heart of downtown Detroit with stunning views of the city skyline, this rink has been a major magnet for locals and Olympians alike.

The season runs Nov. 23 through March 2, 2025.

Ice skating isn't the only festive fun you can have at Campus Martius Park.

In November it's the annual tree lighting. This year it took place Nov. 22 and featured a 66-foot Norway spruce tree decorated with ornaments and thousands of LED lights.

There's also the Cadillac Lodge, a family-friendly holiday pop-up with a huge heated tent with games, food, and drinks.
