An Immersive Sports Venue is Coming to Michigan

There are only two immersive sports venues worldwide, and two more are being built. One is coming to Michigan, but what is an immersive sports venue?

The Sphere in Las Vegas

The Sphere in Las Vegas is an immersive concert venue. The Sphere has a massive wrap-around LED screen, a state-of-the-art sound system, and the ability to create 4D special effects.

U2 was the first artist to have a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas. I have a friend who went twice and said it was an unbelievable experience. He said the graphics wrapped around the venue with the most impressive sound he had ever experienced in a venue.

Since U2, several other artists have performed at the Sphere, like the Backstreet Boys, Dead & Company, the Eagles, Kenny Chesney, and more. Sporting events like the UFC and the NHL Draft were held at the Sphere. The Sphere is not the world's only immersive venue.

Cosm, the Immersive Sports Venue, is Coming to Michigan

Pro and college sports have some of the biggest fan bases of any entertainment group. Depending on how well a sports team's season is going, tickets for their home venue could be sold out.

What if I told you there is a better way to enjoy a major sporting event than watching on your big screen at home or your favorite sports bar? What if that experience was so immersive that you felt like you were in the actual stadium it was being played?

Cosm is an immersive sports venue with two locations, one in Los Angeles and the other in Dallas. Soon, there will be a Cosm in Atlanta, and ground was recently broken for the venue coming to Detroit.

Cosm Detroit is designed for sports fans to feel like they are near the glass of a hockey game, courtside for a basketball game, behind home plate for a baseball game, at the 50-yard line of a football game, and ringside for an MMA event.

According to MLive, Cosm Detroit will feature a planetarium-style dome that puts sports fans in the middle of the action. Cosm Detroit features live sports from partnerships with UFC, the NBA, NBC Sports, TNT Sports, Fox Sports, ESPN, the NFL, and more.
