Denzel Valentine had 16 points and Travis Trice 15 to lead Michigan State past Georgia 70-63 on Friday in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament in Charlotte.
The seventh-seeded Spartans (24-11) advanced in the East Region to the round of 32 on Sunday against second-seeded Virginia, which defeated Belmont 79-67. Charles Mann's 19 points led Georgia (21-12).
