The REAL guy who came up with the idea (sorry, Al Gore) wrote the paper on March 12, 1989, about "a proposal to make information sharing possible over computers, using nodes and links to create a web that would eventually stretch worldwide and become the modern internet."

If you have spent anytime in Michigan, November 10, 1975 is a date you know. It was 37 years ago today that the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald sank in Lake Superior. While the ship is far from the only to have sunk in Lake Superior (since 1816 that number is 240) it's easily the most famous. Not many shipwrecks have a chart topping song written about them as well.

Grand River Flooding Expected To Get Worse [VIDEO]
Flooding in Michigan Rivers, including the Grand River through Grand Rapids, is expected to get get worse in the next 72 hours. One to three inches of new rain is expected to send flood stages well above normal levels by the weekend. The area has already experienced above average rainfall totals, combined with average winter snowfall totals, swelling the Grand in many places.
