For the fourth year in a row, The Salvation Army will be partnering with the West Michigan Sports Commission during the Yule Run, I’ll Walk Family Fun Event. The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services canteen will provide free hot chocolate, coffee, water and cookies before, during and after the event. The Salvation Army Brass Band will also be on location, playing a selection of traditional Christmas carols. In addition, the race site has been established as an official “Angel Tree Program” donation site. Donated toys should be new and unwrapped for children ages infant to 16 years old. By participating in the program, each donor’s name will be entered to win one of two Brooks running jackets or a mountain bike.

The 4th Annual Yule Run, I’ll Walk is a family-oriented event that gives participants the ability to preview the Christmas Lite Show at Fifth Third Ballpark before its opening to the general public. The Yule Run, I’ll Walk course will contain approximately 1 million lights with over forty creative and animated displays that participants will be able to enjoy during the two lap tour.

This year’s race will begin at 7:00 p.m. starting at A.J’s Family Fun Center, 4400 Ball Park Drive, NE in Comstock Park. Online registration is now open at http://www.yulerun5k.com and on-site registration will be available from 12:00 noon – 6:30 p.m., the day of the race. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
