The place you run to for cough syrup, cat food, snacks, and whatever else you need to quickly grab (along with your prescriptions) could be closing.

Walgreens has announced that they'll be closing about 600 stores nationwide as they complete a deal to buy nearly 2,000 stores from Rite Aid.

WZZM-13 reports that the company says most of the stores closing will be Rite Aids. The majority of those stores are within a mile of another store owned by Walgreens.

A list of which stores will close has not been released, but we do know that the closings will begin this spring and are expected to be completed over a period of 18 months.

According to Walgreens' website, there are 51 Walgreen's within 50 miles of Grand Rapids; Rite Aid's store locator lists 20 stores within 50 miles.
