After 11 years covering sports for WZZM-13 here in Grand Rapids, sports director Tom Clyde has decided to step away to spend time with his family.

In a statement on WZZM-13's website, Clyde said,

It's a day of change for me. After 11+ years at WZZM, I am leaving to pursue other interests. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to cover so many exciting stories and events through the years at WZZM. I have appreciated all that the station has done for me. But schedule and staffing changes have made me examine what is best for me and my family at this time. They are my greatest joy and my top priority and as a result, WZZM and I have agreed to part ways.

I am putting family first right now. I have learned that no matter how great any career is, no job compares to that of being a father and a husband.

Clyde also thanked his colleagues at WZZM as well as the WZZM viewers for making his time with the station memorable.
