We've all lost something precious to us, right? Especially rings, wedding rings.

The question is, how far would you go to find the ring that you lost? I'd say pretty far, exhausting all avenues to recover it, of course. Would you climb through garbage?

This couple in Chesterfield, Missouri, climbed through eight tons of garbage, looking for a lost wedding ring. The thing was, there was a little money on the line. $400,000, to be exact!

The Daily Mail reported Carla Squitieri was just slightly hysterical when she realized that she didn't have on her wedding band and 12.5-carat diamond ring. Opps!  She had taken them off, they got swept up in the trash, and was on a garbage truck.

The company, Meridian Waste, was able to get a message to the driver as soon as Carla called them – and the driver was able to change his course and not take the trash to the landfill.

Carla and her husband, Bernie, then found themselves staring at the tons of trash, which they dug through along with an employee of the company. I mean, come on, you're talkin' $400,000!

In less than half-an-hour after the group started looking, they found the rings!

Whew! All's well that ends well.
